What happened so far …

When Darkseid came to Earth and was defeated by the Justice League, he retired. In the process, he kidnapped Cyborg, in whose heart he implemented a techno-organic virus that is transmissible through the Internet and blood. Back on Earth, the virus spreads rapidly and quickly claims first victims. Batman is attacked by the infected Tim Drake / Red Robin and Dick Grayson / Nightwing …

While Superman flies with Lois, his son Jon and Damian Wayne aka Robin to the Daily Planet to use the analogue communication systems, Harley Quinn „separates“ (again) from the Joker, Aquaman is attacked by Infected and Hal Jordan goes along Camping with friends. However, when Hal goes to his phone, he gets infected and attacks his friends Green Arrow and Black Carnary. After a brief but tough battle, Black Carnary finally kills Hal Jordan and becomes an unwanted Green Lantern. When Superman arrives at the scene, there’s a quick chat with Batman before the virus finally gets the upper hand …

Dceased issue 2 is based on the same strengths as the first edition and continues to expand. Especially the scene with Aquaman at the beginning illustrates the gloomy atmosphere of the series perfectly and everything that has to do with Green Lantern forms the optical highlight of the issue. In general, optics and staging are among the great strengths of Dceased.

All in all, Dceased # 2 is worth reading and pleases by the plot as well as the great drawing style. The horror genre is really good for the DC heroes and villains!

Als Darkseid auf die Erde kam und von der Justice League gestellt wurde, zog er sich zurück. Dabei verschleppte er Cyborg, in dessen Inneres er einen techno organischen Virus implementierte, der durch das Internet und Blut übertragbar ist. Zurück auf der Erde breitet sich das Virus rasend schnell aus und fordert schnell erste Opfer. Batman wird von den infizierten Tim Drake/Red Robin und Dick Grayson/Nightwing attackiert …

Während Superman mit Lois, seinem Sohn Jon und Damian Wayne aka Robin zum Daily Planet fliegt, um die analogen Systeme zur Kommunikation zu nutzen, „trennt“ sich Harley Quinn (mal wieder) vom Joker, Aquaman wird von Infizierten attackiert und Hal Jordan geht mit Freunden campen. Als Hal jedoch an sein Telefon geht, wird er infiziert und attackiert seine Freunde Green Arrow und Black Carnary. Nach einem kurzen aber harten Gefecht kann Black Carnary schließlich Hal Jordan töten und wird ungewollt zu einer Green Lantern. Als Superman am Ort des Geschehens eintrifft, gibt es eine kurzes Gespräch mit Batman, bevor der Virus endgültig die Oberhand gewinnt …

Dceased Ausgabe 2 setzt auf die gleichen Stärken wie die erste Ausgabe und baut diese konstant weiter aus. Besonders die Szene mit Aquaman zu Beginn verdeutlicht die düstere Atmosphäre der Serie perfekt und alles, was mit Green Lantern zu tun hat, bildet das optische Highlight der Ausgabe. Generell gehört die Optik inklusive Inszenierung zu den großen Stärken von Dceased.

Alles in allem ist auch Dceased #2 lesenswert und gefällt durch die Handlung sowie den tollen Zeichenstil. Das Horrorgenre steht den DC Helden und Schurken wirklich gut!
